Recently..

Lack of updates — the longest time i’m sick.

It started off with a bad sore throat and fever, and thereafter followed by serious flu which lasted over 2 weeks and a total of 3 days of MC.

But but!….im recovering well now so here i am.

Dropped my OB assignment into the box yesterday!!….first assignment and many more deadlines in March (sobz!)

Anyway, just some V day pics and my recent buy.. ..

we had a simple dinner at Secret Recipe since i was still not feeling well (that explains my pale look)….and caught a movie, PS I Love You!….everyone should catch this…it’s really nice and touching.

Gabbie had a bouquet of pink roses sent to my house in the afternoon that day…..and my mum mistookenly thought the flowers were for her coz last year Gabbie had it sent to my office…muah hahah…

The unusual thing is that the flowers were wrapped with a bag full of water (which looked like a fish bowl)…i was surprised coz it came in a box and when i wanted to take it out it was so heavy….innovative so that the flowers could last longer….

“Thanks Gabbie for the flowers which you never fail to send every year…..no matter what I alwiz feel you there beside me….:)”

What i bought yesterday:

My first pair of Birkies…..Molina….which i have been pondering for so long.

Happy happy!!

Happy CNY/Valentine’s

Happy Lunar New Year to everyone out there!

I haven taken any pictures this cny coz im too tired after all the preparations. Been bumping around helping to get stuff for this yearly affair.

Food…..Goodies……Shopping (not for clothes but more food…haha)

On new year eve, while i was cutting the veggies for Mum to cook with her fried bee hoon for Chu Yi…..my mum said into my ear:”This year my little girl has grown up……lessen my burden a lot!!”…..i was like….Okay~~~~! @_@ I was really tired out man…..i did the laundary, sweeping the floor, ironing the clothes, then the veggies (my mum really bought lots of veggies), marinating the chicken wings and lastly…..decorating the house with lots of fishes (my aunt’s maid made lots of fishes which looks like pomfret….haha)….i feel like im in a fish tank.

Anyway, hope everyone have collected lots of ang pows this year and hope this rat year be a good one for all of us!

Some of my wears:

Oh!. Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day!

I gotta go back to work after 2 days of MC. Sian-ness.

Gabbie and I agreed to have a quiet one this year. So we shall have dinner and movies only.

Hope all couples have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

My First “Investment”

“No, No!!!!”…..Not the fund investments.

It’s my first “investment” on something that I wanna pamper myself ever since i got my bonus last year.

I was hoping to get myself a Coach bag since some time ago. Now my dream have come true. I was pondering for a long time if I should get the reversible tote bag which was past season and I could get help to bring back from US but i dropped the idea since it will be too big for me.

Got my first Coach bag at DFS at Scotts. I got the Heritage Stripe series and the model which is only available at the DFS stores only. *grinning*

Here’s my baby..

The front

The back

Though I wanted the bag with the “cloth” type, however, the new series are in canvas material…on the bright side, it’s better for me coz im a clmusy person so i may dirty my bag easily. Good choice!

I’m a Happy Gal!!….(though feet very sore from all the walking)

I gotta thank my PARENTS for accompanying me to walk around Orchard road in search of my Coach bag hunt. They accompanied me on Thurs after work to check out the store at Raffles (nothing much there)….and this afternoon, combed the store at Taka and finally DFS at scotts.

Muah!

Foodie New Year

I started the new year with some good makan.

Here are two places which deserve a food for thought!!!

Ma Maison @ Central mall:

Some stew beef with scramble egg and butter rice….(don’t see the portion is small but it’s actually very filling)

Hamburger steak…..this is yummy and filling too!!….

Caremel custarded…..not too sweet…just nice for my liking….it comes in a unique chinese tea cup….(despite being a western-jap restaurant)

Ratings: 3.5/5

Wanna have a cheaper and good alternative?!?!?!?

Charlie’s Peranakan Restaurant:

Beef redang and Chap Chai……….no words to say….Best ah!!!!! esp the Moo-dang….erm redang i mean…(hehe….that’s what i call it)

Ngoi Heong (dunno how to spell)….like those “spring rolls”….but theirs is special….its big and juicy….

Chin Chow….and a mini ice-kachang…..very sweet imo (in my opinion).

Forgot to say, they are located along Joo Chiat (opp Holy Family church)

Ratings: 4/5

2 places for good food.

I’m good or what?

:D

Adios, 2007!

The time of the end of the year has come. It’s time again to reflect on achievements to be proud of and failures to ponder on. This year have been quite fulfilling for me in terms of work and studies wise.

Some reflections.. ..

At home:
This year I have a fair share of spending time at home and outside……reason maybe that I’m beginning to value family as equally as my relationships with friends…..unlike in the past, i regret saying this that I value my friends more and often made my parents sad.

My mum has been and always been a quiet support for me….she’s always there to encourage me when im down and out…..always there to boost my morale when things ain’t going my way. She’s been more than a mother….she’s my best friend too.

As for my dad…..i always don’t see eye to eye with him to many things…..but this year, i’ve tried hard enough to lessen the quarrels and differences. But to me…..he’s always the best dad….though he’s often very rough (as in talks loudly to me, wakes me up in bed in a thundery tone) with me, he does sweet things like sheltering me to the train station when it rains, reminds me of things that i often forgets about (im a forgetful person)

For the coming year, I wish my home will be more home sweet home for me.

At work:
This year I learnt a lot of life experiences at the work place…..I learnt how harsh reality is when you’re out alone in society where you got to be out there defending yourself - all my yourself!

After leaving the shitty job in March, thank God that I got a new job in an instance…….though there were many rejections from several interviews i went….the last interview i went was a smooth one.

In the work place, always speak up for yourself……”Ask and you will be given.” (Trust me!)

Look out for yourself…..don’t even trust people who are good to you. (personal experience)

I’m sure im gonna gain more experience as the years go past.

At study:
As compared with previous year, i consider myself that I deserve a pat on my shoulders as i only din make it for 1 paper…though i don’t know what or where went wrong but im gonna push myself and im sure im gonna make it all next year!…..most importantly i have my friends, best friends and loved ones to boost all the way!

With friends:
This year there wasn’t much time spent with friends as studies and work was taking a toil on me….but im lucky to have understanding friends and i tried to make each appointment possible. Next year wont get any better (opps…sorry…..for the 1st half only kay)….coz it’s my final semester so i gotta put all my energy on studies.

With love:
To my dearest Gabbie….it’s not that I want to place you last but coz of the many things i need to say.

This year, we have experienced yet another phase of our relationship and we got to know each other even deeper. As you always say, we are getting to know each other day by day…..I will never wanna stop getting to know you.

No matter what is gonna happen in 2008…..we will continue to walk thru it all together. Muahxxxx!!…

And To All…..I hope 2007 have been a fulfilling year for you too~!

Let’s take 2008 and make it a good one!

December 30, 2007

Finally it’s my time

I have come-ed to notice that this is officially the 2nd post of December I have here….haha…..i really have been procrastinating too much…..since this is the last month where I can slack and be lazy.

I have lots to update so bear with this suuuuuuppppppppper long post.

Less talking and most pics, i propose!

Let’s go with the most recent ones first since the back dated events have long been history.

Christmas 2007

My usual besties, Sammie and Mingli, to spend the Eve of EVERY SINGLE Christmas together (partners NOT allowed ^_^)

This year after my Mid-Nite mass at Good Shepherd, we caught I Am Legend at 2.10am….it’s my first time watching such an “early” movie and boy i didn’t fall asleep kay!!….after movie was back to my place for the exchange of pressies.

Presentation of the Exchange of Gifts

Sammie’s to Mingli and Me (the Hello Kitty bag is not the pressie) hiak hiak.

Mingli’s to Sammie and Me

Mine’s to Sammie and Mingli

Ta - Daaaaahhh!!…..All out gifts….
Inside that sweet hello kitty bag is these 2 cutie pairs of slippers….hand-made by Sammie (appreciate your sweet effort babe!!)….mine is with the colourful balls and ML’s with that white feather…..nicely done….Oh’!….and our slippers have a brand which is GSM - stands for 3 of our names, Genevieve, Samantha, Mingli….
The weighing scale is from ML……gosh!….im too ashamed to say this even if it’s a blow to me…..the story behind it is for Sammie to maintain her weight( she lost quite a few pounds) and for me to lose weight -_-”(tks ML!!!)….I’ll take it as a motivation!!…
I got them the most simple gift this year…Cute and Practical…..is a towel which is packed in a shape of a muffin…..looks yummy to me (that explains y i got a weighing scale…hahah)

A closer look at our “branded” slippers

After all the Hoos and Haas…..it’s bedtime (which was like around 5 plus in the morning)……before jumping to my new queen-sized bed…..gotta follow some strict beauty rules - remove make-up (die die must remove before sleeping orh!)

Our “removed-make-up” faces……i did some edits to the pics just in case we scare some people out there.

We chatted till day break and slept only till noon and we parted…..though a simple get together with sort of the same process every year…..it sort of marks the strong friendship that we have even not being able to meet up for months coz of our own committments…..we have endless things to talk abt…..I love you babes!….it’s been 11 years! (WoW!)

Short Getaway - Siloso Beach Resort

Since i was unable to leave Singapore for a short holiday….Gabbie suggested this new resort in Sentosa to getaway from the buzz in the city….I was thrilled!!

We had the Queen Suite which we have a private jacuzzi on our own….sweet….

Short duration of our stay…..we were given a nice cozy corner of the suites level….away from the sounds from Cafe Del Mar when night approaches…

Our suite…..though of the space constraint….room is quite small but it feels really cosy….there’s our bed and ’squeezy’ dressing table with the tv…..we were also given complimentry champage but we bought our sparkling wine beforehand (act smart laaa!)

The mini stairway to our private jacuzzi…..the stairs were really miniature…..but the feeling was like you’re in a house of your own.

We spent some quiet time here reading the morning papers and soaking in the jacuzzi….nice!…..im happy to be able to do some tanning too!(im too shy to tan in the open :p).

The pool was in the midst of the forest-like trees with a high waterfall…..cool….it’s nice to wake up to the greens every morning…..

Though the stay was a short one…..we enjoyed each other’s company and a nice, relaxed time from work and stress.

My simple BD with loved ones

Age is really catching up….the older you get, the more time you wanna spend with your loved ones.

My parents never fail to let me go without a birthday cake every year…..(it’s a nice feeling)….

Gabbie had a short celebration for me and also to celebrate our monthsary.

Flowers!!……i was at Gabbie’s where he was teaching me how to prepare his style of the lazy-man pizza and fried pork….in the midst of preparing all these the door bell rang…..Gabbie asked me to open the door and to my surprise….the delivery man asked for me and i was in a awkward position to sign on the receipt…..:p

In the evening, Gabbie brought me to a hilltop Jap restaurant for teppenyaki at/near Jurong Bird Park (yea!….we went all the way there for dinner)……food was not bad…

Phew!…finally im done with this entry. Loss for words now……I’ll do a closing of the year entry in my next entry!

I feel Sucky

The past week hasn’t been good especially at night.

Been having sleeplessness nights after nights.

I seriously have no idea what’s wrong with me.

I guess there’s something in my sub-conscience is bugging me but I have no idea what is it.

I hope to find out soon before affecting the loved ones around me.

. . .

Work hasn’t been great either.

The change of new management is taking a toil on me.

My manager just left the coy, and it’s not helping me.

I’m on my own again.

. . .

I managed to check my results at the rmit website.

Didn’t make it for Financial Planning which is the paper I’m more confident than of Accounting Theory and I cleared the latter. Great Job.

The strategy of taking only 2 subjects this final semester didn’t work out so I’m loaded with the final 3 subjects next year. Extra burden, extra work.

Gotta work 10 times more and get through these.

. . .

Moral strength is enough for me.

Busy busy

November is really a busy month for me with lots of birthdays and anniversaries to celebrate, therefore i procrastinated to update of my mini getaway with Gabbie….it’s gonna be almost 1 week since I’m back from the resort and I have yet to post up some pictures of the suite that i stayed in with Gabbie. It was really a nice getaway from the busy life and have some peace and quiet that we both could have. I would say the short trip was a success coz this time round we have planned out our itinerary and didn’t go like staring at each other over what we should do next. And we also have the Sentosa Islander card which made moving around there very affordable.

I promise to load up some pics soon.

Tomorrow is my birthday, not having any big celebration. I wish for a quiet and peaceful one. (too much eating have been taking place and it’s spoiling my diet plan….hmph!)

Some pics that we took last fri morning while having breakfast and get ready to run some errands before checking in the resort.

Enjoyable weekend

Hello.I’m FINALLY back!

Exams just ended this week and I was rewarded with a long break from break from work. Thursday being a public holiday, Office is closed on Friday (yayness!!), and comes the weekend. I should say that I spent it quite well after a long tiring semester.

I shall just go straight to the point.

Friday:

Good thing that Gabbie’s last paper was in the morning so we could meet in the afternoon and have the whole day to ourselves!…..Gabbie fetched me to run some errands and off to catch an afternoon movie….it’s been such a long time since i watched a afternoon movie in the weekday.

We caught Stardust. Was a very fantasy movie…the story was a bit boring at the beginning but was quite exciting later on.

Gabbie was dying to bring me to try Tam Po Po at Liang Court so we headed down right after the movie.

Yummy food right up!

Sashimi from New Zealand - $10.50 (5 pcs)
Review: Can taste the freshness….can feel every ounce of the flesh and it melts in your mouth

Ramen with Miso soup
Review: Gabbie had this. His fave. I had a taste of the soup, quite tasty but a little salty for my liking.

Tasty Egg
Review: Quite yummy….it’s hard on the outside and soft in the inside….Gabbie knows how to make it….i dun think i will have any patience for that.

Sukiyaki Don
Review: Super delicious…..what’s more to say….everything’s perfect.

Desserts: Green Tea ice-cream and Milk pudding
Review: green tea taste nice but i don’t like the red bean (but gabbie likes it)……milk pudding is quite sweet and thick….will be nicer if it’s smoother.

Afterwhich we had a short car ride to the whole stretch of East Coast…..and saw some funny happenings…..muah hahah!

Saturday:

Reminiscing the good old days, Gabbie suggested we try the chicken rice steamboat at Golden Mile Tower where we ate before when we were small.

I learn a way to eat beef after “boiling” it in the soup…..dip it in a egg mixture….. :)

And off to the Night Safari…yippee!!

We went for a Creatures in the Night performance…..interesting show but no pics…..i caught all on video.

Had quite a long walk (1 hour!!!…tired for me as i haven been exercising…argh!)

However, ultimately we had an enjoyable time there. Feel like we’re in primary school again!

Sharks!!…..It’s monday tml!
